The Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC), Patna, has released a recruitment notification (No. BSUSC/CAP-01 to 06/2026) for the appointment of Assistant Professors on a contractual basis. This drive aims to fill 3,687 vacancies across various universities and newly constituted Rajkiya Degree Colleges in Bihar. The engagement is provisional and valid until regular or backlog appointments are made.

Eligibility Criteria for BSUSC Faculty Positions
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks. A 5% relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EBC and differently-abled categories. Additionally, candidates must have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or possess a Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations.
Note on Age: The age limit is set between 21 and 43 years as of 1 August 2026. Age relaxation applies as per Bihar Government norms.
Selection Process
The selection is merit-based, totaling 100 marks: 88 marks are allotted for academic credentials (matriculation to Ph.D. level), and 12 marks are assigned for the interview-cum-demonstration. Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio for the interview stage.

- Complete the registration and fill in the required academic and personal details.
- Ensure that marks/CGPA are converted using the official university formula.
- Select exactly 10 university preferences; modifications are not allowed after submission.
- Upload self-attested copies of required certificates and photograph.
- Submit the application and keep a printed copy for future reference.
Important Warnings
- Caste and Domicile certificates for reserved category candidates must be in the name and address of the father, not the husband.
- Failure to upload a valid, readable copy of the required certificates will result in the candidate being treated as an unreserved/general applicant.
