Eligibility Criteria for GSSSB Stenographer
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Proficiency in basic computer applications as per Gujarat Civil Services rules is required. Candidates must also demonstrate adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 20 and 40 years of age as of 29 July 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories and specific groups as per government norms.
Salary and Remuneration
The selected candidate will receive a fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,800 for the first five years. Upon successful completion of this period, the position will transition to a regular pay scale as per the 7th Pay Commission (Level-6: Rs. 35,400 – Rs. 1,12,400), pending the outcome of specific Supreme Court matters.
Selection Procedure
The recruitment involves two primary stages:
- Qualifying Test: A shorthand dictation in English at 80 words per minute for two minutes, followed by transcription.
- Main Examination: Consists of Paper-1 (100 marks: English language proficiency, computer knowledge) and Paper-2 (100 marks: Skill test in shorthand at 100 words per minute).
