The selection is conducted in two stages:
- Preliminary Examination: An objective-type test consisting of two papers (General Studies and Commerce/Management). This stage is for shortlisting candidates for the Main examination.
- Main Examination: A comprehensive written test consisting of eight papers, covering Kannada, English, General Studies, and domain-specific subjects like Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Economics.
