The Mizoram Public Service Commission (Mizoram PSC) has officially released the recruitment notification for the year 2026, inviting applications for the positions of Inspector of Excise & Narcotics and State Tax Officer. A total of 07 vacancies are available for Group 'B' Gazetted posts under the General Service. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Inspector of Excise & Narcotics: Candidates must hold a Graduate degree or its equivalent from a recognized University. Computer proficiency and knowledge of the Mizo language (up to Middle School standard) are mandatory.
• State Tax Officer: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, along with Computer and Mizo language proficiency.

Physical Standards (For Inspector Post Only)

• Height: 5’4”
• Chest: Normal – 34”, Expanded – 36”
• Physical Test: 100m race in 15 seconds; 800m race in 3 minutes.

Age Limit (As of Last Date of Application)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 35 Years
• Note: The upper age limit for the Inspector of Excise & Narcotics post is 30 years.
• Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates as per Mizoram State Government rules.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay levels under the Pay Matrix:

• Inspector of Excise & Narcotics: Level 8
• State Tax Officer: Level 7

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through a Combined Competitive Examination. Candidates will be assessed based on their performance in the written examination followed by further rounds as prescribed by the commission.
