Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates must ensure they possess the valid statutory certificates issued by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) as of the crucial date.
- Mining Sirdar: Matriculation with a valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency, Gas Testing Certificate, and First Aid Certificate. Alternatively, a Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering with an Overman Certificate is accepted.
- Surveyor: Matriculation or Diploma/Degree in Mining/Mine Surveying with a valid Surveyor's Certificate of Competency (SCC) under Coal Mines Regulation 2017.
Selection Process and Pay Scale
The selection is based exclusively on a Computer Based Test (CBT). The test will consist of 100 objective questions (70 technical, 30 general awareness/aptitude). There is no negative marking. Selected candidates will be placed in T&S Grade C (Mining Sirdar, ~₹47,330/month) or T&S Grade B (Surveyor, ~₹51,103/month) following a 6-month probation period.

Applications must be submitted online at the official NCL website. A non-refundable fee of ₹1,180 (including GST) is applicable for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates. SC, ST, ESM, and Departmental candidates are exempt from the fee. Note: Candidates may apply for only one post.
