The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has initiated the recruitment process for the Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Grade through the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025. This recruitment is exclusively for eligible departmental candidates currently serving under the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) Cadre of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Eligibility and Service Requirements

Candidates must ensure they meet the following criteria as of 1 August 2025:

• Must be a regularly appointed Lower Division Clerk (JSA/LDC) in the CSCS cadre.
• Must possess at least five years of continuous service in the LDC grade.
• Candidates who cleared a competitive exam for LDC entry must have completed at least four years of continuous service in the grade.
• Must have passed the required typewriting test or possess a valid exemption order.

Selection Procedure

The selection is based on a two-stage process:

• Computer Based Examination (200 Marks): Objective-type papers on English, Parliamentary Procedure, General Knowledge, and Noting/Drafting.
• Evaluation of Service Records (100 Marks): Assessment of APARs for candidates who qualify the CBE stage.

Steps to Apply for SSC SSA/UDC Recruitment 2026

1. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official website ssc.gov.in.
2. Log in with credentials and select the specific LDCE 2025 notification.
3. Fill in service details and verify eligibility criteria.
4. Upload a live photograph and scanned signature as per prescribed specifications.
5. Submit the application online and print the copy.
6. Forward the printed application along with all mandatory supporting documents through the Head of Department/Head of Office to the Regional Director, SSC (Northern Region) by the specified deadline.

Critical Warnings for Candidates

Failure to follow these protocols will lead to summary rejection:

• Departmental Forwarding: Online submission is not sufficient. Applications not forwarded by your department by 23 July 2026 will be disqualified.
• Photograph: The system requires a live, real-time photograph. Uploading pre-existing images will cause rejection.
• Signature: Ensure the signature is clear and occupies at least 80% of the allocated space.
• OTR Compatibility: Old registration data from the legacy ssc.nic.in portal is invalid. A new OTR must be generated on the updated ssc.gov.in portal.
