Overview of Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Recruitment 2026
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has scheduled an Open Recruitment Rally for the selection of unmarried Indian male and female candidates for the post of Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects) under Intake 01/2027. This is a walk-in recruitment process targeting candidates residing in North-Eastern states, Sikkim, and the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Eligibility Criteria for Agniveervayu

- Age Limit: Born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (inclusive). Maximum age at enrolment must not exceed 22 years.
- Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English; OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering with 50% aggregate/English; OR a 2-year Vocational course with 50% aggregate/English.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible.
Selection Process
The selection is a multi-stage process conducted over the course of the rally:
- Document Verification: Mandatory verification of educational and domicile certificates.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Includes a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
- Written Test: Objective-type test comprising English and Reasoning/General Awareness (RAGA).
- Adaptability Tests: Assessment of suitability for military life and varying operational conditions.
- Medical Examination: Final physical and medical screening at designated centres.
Important Documentation
Candidates must carry original and four self-attested photocopies of: matriculation and 10+2/diploma marksheets, valid domicile certificate, 10 recent passport-sized photographs (with name/date slate), and the signed consent form for the PFT.
