The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2026, inviting applications for 357 positions under the Public Works (R&B) Department. Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following educational requirements on or before the application closing date of 30 August 2026:
- Draftsman (Civil): Must possess a Two-Year Draftsman Training Course Certificate or Diploma in Draftsman Civil from a government-recognized institute.
- Works Supervisor: Must have passed Matriculation and hold an ITI Certificate in Building Construction or Carpentry Trade from JKBOTE or the Director General of Training, Government of India.
Age Limits and Relaxation
The reference date for age calculation is 1 January 2026. The upper age limit is 40 years for Open Merit candidates, with relaxations up to 43 years for reserved categories (SC, ST, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, OBC) and 42 years for PwBD candidates.
Selection Procedure
Selection for these posts will be conducted via an objective-type written examination (OMR based). The exam will feature multiple-choice questions with a negative marking scheme of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks per incorrect answer.
