Overview of CBSE Compartment/Supplementary Exam 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule and guidelines for the 2026 Compartment/Supplementary examinations. This process is designed to assist students who could not clear one or two subjects in the main board examinations, providing them with an essential opportunity to save their academic year.

Key Dates for 2026 Examinations

  • Class 12 LOC Submission Start: 2026-06-02
  • Class 12 Compartment Exam Date: 2026-07-15
  • Class 10 Second Board Exam Dates: 2026-05-15 to 2026-06-01

Eligibility Criteria

For Class 12: Students who failed in one subject or those wishing to improve their performance are eligible. Students in their final third attempt to clear the compartment are also covered under these guidelines.

For Class 10: Candidates who appeared in the 2026 Main Board Exams and were placed in the compartment category for one or two subjects are eligible to appear for the second board examinations.

Application Fee Structure

Payments must be processed strictly via online channels (Net Banking, UPI, or Cards).

  • Class 12: ₹300 per subject (India) + ₹150 for practicals.
  • Class 10: ₹320 per subject.

Steps to Apply

  1. Visit the official portal at cbse.gov.in or cbseit.in.
  2. Locate the 'Compartment Examination' link for your respective class.
  3. Enter required credentials, including Roll Number and School Number.
  4. Upload the necessary documents (Passport photo and signature, max 40 KB).
  5. Complete the fee payment online and download the confirmation page.

Note: Regular school candidates are advised to coordinate their applications through their respective school administration.
