Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Eligibility depends on the specific paper for which the candidate is appearing. Generally, candidates must hold a D.El.Ed, B.Ed, or equivalent qualification as prescribed by the NCTE. Final semester students of these courses are permitted to appear for the exam.

Qualifying marks are set at 60% for OC/EWS, 50% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen categories. The APTET score carries 20% weightage in the final Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).
