Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a premier Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has released an official notification (Advt No. 383/HR/HLS&SCB/2025-26) for the recruitment of Field Operation Engineers (FOE) and Project Engineers-I. This recruitment drive is for the Homeland Security and Smart City Business SBU (HLS&SCB), Bengaluru Complex, to be posted on a temporary/contractual basis at various project sites in Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Eligible Indian Nationals holding engineering degrees (BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering/ME/M.Tech or MCA) with relevant post-qualification experience can apply online between May 20, 2026, and June 8, 2026. Selection will be through a pre-registered walk-in selection process comprising a Written Test followed by an Interview.

The contract duration for both roles is initially for three years. Extensions are subject to individual performance and project requirements.

BEL Eligibility Criteria 2026

1. Educational Qualification (as on 01-06-2026)

Candidates must have completed a full-time ME / M.Tech / BE / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering (4-year course) or MCA from an AICTE/UGC approved institute or recognized university. Candidates must have passed in the relevant discipline. Eligible specializations include:

• Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication / Telecommunication / Communication

• Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering
• Information Technology / Information Science

Note: If your assessment is based on a CGPA/Credits system, you must upload and carry the official university conversion formula to percentage.

2. Mandatory Post-Qualification Experience (as on 01-06-2026)

• Field Operation Engineer (FOE): Minimum 5 Years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience in Networking/Data Centres operations/Database administration.
• Project Engineer-I: Minimum 2 Years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience in the same domains.

Required Skill Set: Hands-on knowledge of data networking concepts, DBMS, Firewalls, AAA servers, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching protocols (STP, RSTP, VTP), EtherChannel, NTP, VLANs, Port Security, DNS, CCNA basics, IP addressing, subnetting, and Linux basics.

Ineligible Experience: Experience gained during teaching, academic projects, research work, banking & financial institutions, non-profit setups, or internships forming part of the academic curriculum will NOT be counted as valid industrial experience.

Application Fee Structure

The application fee must be paid online via SBI Collect before filing the online application. Separate fee payments must be made if a candidate is applying for more than one post.

• Field Operation Engineer (FOE): ₹450 + 18% GST
• Project Engineer-I: ₹400 + 18% GST
• Exempted Categories: PwBD, SC, and ST candidates are fully exempted from paying the application fee.

Selection Process

The selection comprises a systematic Pre-Registered Walk-In Selection process to be conducted in and around Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

• Stage 1: Written Test (85% Weightage) - Objective type test based on professional knowledge.
• Stage 2: Personal Interview (15% Weightage) - Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:10 ratio based on written test merit. It will be conducted on the same or subsequent days.

Exact date, time, and venue for the selection rounds will be communicated individually to shortlisted applicants via their registered email addresses.
