GESCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM), a premier Karnataka Government Undertaking, has announced a significant opportunity for young engineering graduates and diploma holders. Under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), GESCOM is inviting applications for 275 Apprentice positions for the year 2026-27. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on technical experience in the power distribution sector.

GESCOM Vacancy Details 2026

The recruitment drive aims to fill 275 spots across two major categories. The distribution of vacancies is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the GESCOM Apprenticeship:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics or a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Passing Year: Only those who have passed their qualifying examination after January 2022 are eligible to apply.
• Language Proficiency: Ability to read and write Kannada is mandatory.
• Domicile: Preference will be given to candidates belonging to Karnataka State.
• Restrictions: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are not eligible.

Age Limit

• UR (General) Candidates: 18 to 40 years
• SC/ST Candidates: 18 to 45 years

Monthly Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per government norms:

• Engineering Degree Holders (BE): ₹9,000/- per month
• Diploma Holders: ₹8,000/- per month

Note: No additional allowances for food or accommodation will be provided during the one-year training period.

Selection Process

The selection is strictly based on Merit. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in their respective qualifying examinations (Degree or Diploma). There is no written test or interview mentioned in the official notification.

1. Prepare an application (typed or handwritten) providing all personal and educational details.
2. Clearly mention "For 2026–27 Apprenticeship Training - BE / Diploma holder" on top of the application and the envelope.
3. Attach self-attested copies of required documents (10th/12th Marks cards, Semester-wise Degree/Diploma Marks cards, Caste Certificate, and Medical Fitness Certificate for women).
4. Include three recent passport-size photographs and a self-addressed envelope with a ₹25 stamp (4x9 inch).
