The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, has released a comprehensive recruitment notification (Advt. No. RC/75/2026) for various teaching positions. Vacancy and Pay Scale Details
Candidates selected for these roles will be placed in the following Academic Pay Levels as per the 7th Central Pay Commission:
- Professor: Academic Pay Level-14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200)
- Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level-13A (Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100)
- Assistant Professor: Academic Pay Level-10 (Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400)
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is strictly governed by UGC Regulations 2018 and subsequent amendments. Below is a summary:
Assistant Professor
- Master’s degree with 55% marks in a concerned/relevant/allied subject.
- Must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET.
- Candidates with a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC regulations) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
Associate Professor
- A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
- A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research.
- A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
Professor
- An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree and a minimum of 10 research publications.
- A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college or research experience at an equivalent level.
- Evidence of having guided doctoral candidates.

- General, OBC, and EWS Category: Rs. 2,000/- (Non-refundable)
- SC, ST, PwD, and Women Candidates: Exempted (Nil)
