The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, has released a comprehensive recruitment notification (Advt. No. RC/75/2026) for various teaching positions. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor across various Schools and Special Centres.

Vacancy and Pay Scale Details

Candidates selected for these roles will be placed in the following Academic Pay Levels as per the 7th Central Pay Commission:

• Professor: Academic Pay Level-14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200)
• Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level-13A (Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100)
• Assistant Professor: Academic Pay Level-10 (Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400)

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is strictly governed by UGC Regulations 2018 and subsequent amendments. Below is a summary:

Assistant Professor

• Master’s degree with 55% marks in a concerned/relevant/allied subject.
• Must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR) or SLET/SET.
• Candidates with a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC regulations) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Associate Professor

• A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
• A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
• A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research.
• A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.

Professor

• An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree and a minimum of 10 research publications.
• A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college or research experience at an equivalent level.
• Evidence of having guided doctoral candidates.

Application Fee

• General, OBC, and EWS Category: Rs. 2,000/- (Non-refundable)
• SC, ST, PwD, and Women Candidates: Exempted (Nil)
