The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) issued an official notice (No. 3634/PSC and 3637/PSC) on 24 June 2026, clarifying the status of candidates who applied under the Sports Person and Ex-Servicemen quotas for the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025. Following a detailed verification of documentation, the commission has disqualified several applicants from claiming reservation benefits in these specific categories.
Upon scrutiny of the applications for the OCSE 2025 (Advertisement No. 05 of 2025-26), OPSC identified 52 candidates who submitted invalid Sports Identity Cards or certificates. Despite a prior notification (No. 2631/PSC) issued on 13 May 2026 providing an opportunity to rectify these documents according to the G.A. & P.G. Department Resolution No. 24808/GA (dated 1985-11-18), the affected candidates failed to provide the required proof.
As a result, these 52 candidates are no longer eligible for the Sports Person reservation. Their applications have been transitioned to their respective general categories (UR, SEBC, SC, or ST) based on their original declarations.
Similarly, OPSC reviewed 442 applications under the Ex-Servicemen category. Six candidates were found to have submitted invalid discharge certificates—specifically, they had uploaded documents belonging to their parents (Discharge Certificates or Health Cards) rather than providing their own service credentials. Consequently, these 6 individuals have been moved to their respective general categories.
Candidates listed in the official notifications are advised that their candidature for the OCSE 2025 remains valid, provided they qualify under their new non-reserved or reserved social categories. The benefit of the specific Sports or Ex-Servicemen quota is strictly withdrawn for the following individuals:
