Queen Mary's College (Autonomous), Chennai, one of the oldest and most prestigious women's colleges in India, has officially announced the commencement of the admission process for the academic year 2026. Affiliated with the University of Madras and ranked 62nd in NIRF 2025 with a NAAC 'A+' accreditation, the college offers a wide range of Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs.

Admissions to this government-run institution are primarily managed through the centralized Tamil Nadu Government Arts and Science Colleges Admission (TNGASA) portal. Only women candidates are eligible to apply for the various programs offered in Shift I and Shift II.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (UG) Programs

• Gender: Open to women candidates only.
• Qualification: Must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board with relevant subjects.
• Age Limit: Maximum 24 years as of July 1, 2026. A 2-year relaxation is provided for Physically Challenged candidates.

Postgraduate (PG) & Professional Programs

• PG Courses: Completion of a relevant Undergraduate degree from the University of Madras or any other recognized university.
• MCA: A Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or Graduation level. Candidates must possess a valid TANCET score.

Admission Process & Selection Criteria

Selection for UG courses is strictly based on merit. The rank list is prepared considering the marks obtained in Part-III subjects (total out of 400) in the HSC examinations. For PG courses, merit in the qualifying degree is considered, while MCA admissions are conducted based on TANCET scores and TNGASA-PG counselling.

Queen Mary's College follows the reservation norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu, providing specific quotas for Sports persons, Ex-Servicemen, and Differently Abled candidates.
