Eligibility Criteria & Age Limits
To qualify for the Non-Technical Popular Categories - Undergraduate positions, candidates must fulfill strict educational benchmarks and age parameters set by the Ministry of Railways. Meeting these benchmarks is mandatory before submitting any application form.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. Additionally, typing proficiency in English or Hindi is required specifically for Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist posts.
- Age Limit: Applicants must fall within the age bracket of 18 to 30 years as on 1 January 2027.
- Age Relaxations: Category-wise relaxations are applicable as per Railway rules and the detailed provisions of CEN No. 07/2026. Permissible relaxations include up to 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 10 to 15 years for PwBD categories depending on community sub-grouping, and 3 years for Ex-Servicemen.
Remuneration & Pay Scale Structure
Selected candidates will receive competitive pay packages under the 7th CPC pay matrix, supplemented by various central government allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance.
- Level 2 Posts: Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Trains Clerk carry Level 2 pay with an initial starting pay of Rs. 19,900.
- Level 3 Posts: Commercial cum Ticket Clerk carries Level 3 pay with an initial starting pay of Rs. 21,700.
All selected personnel undergo standard probation and training terms in accordance with administrative guidelines established by the Ministry of Railways.
