The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Northern Region, has issued the official notification (Notice No. 4/4/2026-CONF-5) for the Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) / Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025. Eligibility Criteria for SSC LDCE 2025
This is a strictly departmental examination. Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for application:
- Employment Status: Must be a regular Group 'C' employee or Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in Level-1 / Grade Pay ₹1,800 within one of the 12 participating cadres.
- Service Duration: At least 3 years of regular service in the specified grade, calculated as of the cadre-specific crucial date.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12th (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
- Mandatory Forwarding: The application must be forwarded through the proper channel by the Head of Department/Office. Direct applications will be rejected.
Exam Pattern and Scheme
The selection is based on a total of 260 marks:
- Part-I (200 Marks): Consists of a Descriptive paper (Short Essay) and a Computer Based Examination (CBT) covering General English/Hindi and General Knowledge.
- Part-II (60 Marks): Evaluation of the Record of Service (APARs).
Note: A negative marking of 0.25 marks applies to the objective-type Paper-II. Paper-I is evaluated only for candidates who qualify in Paper-II.
