The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the recruitment drive for 7,150 Apprentice vacancies. To secure a seat, candidates must thoroughly understand the SBI Apprentice Syllabus 2026 and the latest exam pattern. The written exam is a single-paper online test consisting of four sections, followed by a Local Language Proficiency Test.

SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern 2026

The online written examination comprises four distinct sections. Each section holds equal weightage. There is a sectional time limit of 15 minutes for each part, making the total test duration 60 minutes.

Important Points to Keep in Mind:

  • The medium of exam for languages other than English will be available in local languages of the selected state.
  • Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 1/4th (0.25) of the mark assigned to that question for incorrect answers. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
  • Candidates must pass the online written exam to qualify for the next stage, which is the Local Language Test.

SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026

Candidates need to clear a multi-stage process to get selected for the one-year training programme:

  1. Online Written Examination: Standard objective test.
  2. Local Language Proficiency Test: Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the applied state/UT. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheets/certificates proving they studied the local language will be exempted from this test.
  3. Document Verification: Verification of educational qualifications, age, and reservation certificates.
