The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim, has released a notification for the recruitment of meritorious sportspersons to the positions of Tax Assistant and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). A total of 82 vacancies are available across 17 recognized sports disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Tax Assistant Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as of 01-07-2026. Qualification: Degree from a recognized University.
- MTS Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as of 01-07-2026. Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent.
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for UR/OBC and 10 years for SC/ST candidates.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on scrutiny of applications, sports performance evaluation, and a Ground/Field Proficiency Test. Tax Assistant candidates must additionally qualify in a Data Entry Skill Test at 8,000 key depressions per hour.

Interested candidates must submit their application in the prescribed format (Annexure-A) via post/courier. Applications must be sent to the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Headquarters (Personnel & Establishment), 1st Floor, Room No-14, Aayakar Bhawan, P-7 Chowringhee Square, Kolkata – 700069. The deadline for receipt of applications is 30-09-2026. Candidates are also required to fill the supplementary Google Form for processing.
