NVS Chandigarh Hostel Superintendent Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Regional Office, Chandigarh, has announced a recruitment notification for the empanelment of Hostel Superintendents (Male & Female). This engagement is purely on a contract basis for the academic session 2026-27. Selected candidates will be posted in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.

Vacancy Details

A total of 116 tentative vacancies are available, equally distributed between male and female candidates. As JNVs are residential schools, it is mandatory for selected staff to reside on the Vidyalaya campus.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements as of the cut-off date, May 1, 2026.

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Desirable: Master’s degree or B.Ed. Proficiency in the regional language is also preferred.

Required Experience

Applicants must possess experience in recognized residential schools under one of the following categories:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Pay Level 5 or above (7th CPC).
• Minimum 7 years of experience with a consolidated pay not less than Rs. 29,200 per month.
• Ex-defence personnel with at least 5 years of experience in Pay Level 5 or above.
• Ex-JNV staff with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Age Limit (as of 01-05-2026)

• Minimum Age: 35 Years
• Maximum Age: 62 Years

Salary and Remuneration

The engaged Hostel Superintendents will receive a fixed consolidated remuneration of Rs. 35,750/- per month. In addition to the salary, shared single accommodation will be provided on the school campus. Please note that TDS and other taxes will be deducted as per government norms.

The recruitment will follow a merit-based shortlisting process followed by personal interaction:
