CSIR CSMCRI Project Associate Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must meet either of the following educational criteria from a recognized university or institute:
- Science Stream: M.Sc. Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Botany.
- Engineering Stream: B.E. or B.Tech. in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Fermentation Technology, Bioprocess Engineering, or Industrial Biotechnology.
Age Limit & Relaxation
- Maximum Age Limit: 35 years as on the closing date (30 September 2026).
- Age Relaxation: Standard age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and women candidates apply as per CSIR and Government of India norms.
Stipend and Emoluments
The monthly stipend awarded to the selected candidate depends on qualifications and national exam status:
- Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month: For candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or a selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
- Rs. 25,000/- + HRA per month: For candidates who do not fall under the above criteria.
Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of three sequential steps:
