Overview of GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 4599 Drivers on a fixed-pay contract basis. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official OJAS portal. The selection process involves an OMR-based written examination followed by a mandatory driving test.

Eligibility for GSRTC Driver Post

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed Standard 12 (10+2) from the Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent.
• Driving License: Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (HGV/HPV/PSV) issued by RTO. Possession of a PSV badge is mandatory at the time of application.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience driving heavy diesel vehicles (buses/trucks) after the issuance of the HGV/HPV license.
• Computer Knowledge: A valid certificate as per the Government of Gujarat resolution dated 13-08-2008 is required.
• Age Limit: 25 to 35 years for General male candidates; relaxations apply for reserved categories and female candidates as per government norms.

Selection Process

The final merit list will be prepared based on a combined weightage of 100%, consisting of:

• OMR Written Test: 40% weightage (100 marks). Negative marking of 0.25 applies for wrong answers.
• Driving Test: 60% weightage (50 marks). Candidates must score at least 35 to qualify.

Common Application Warnings

• Candidates must use a Smart Card type Driving License. Manual/book-type licenses will not be accepted during document verification.
• Experience gained from 108 Ambulance services is not considered valid for this recruitment.
• The application is considered complete only after clicking the 'Confirm Application' button and paying the fee.
