The Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated the recruitment process for the Agniveer Vayu (Musician) intake 01/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme. This specialized recruitment is open to candidates possessing formal training in musical instruments. The engagement is for a tenure of four years.

Eligibility Criteria for IAF Agniveer Vayu (Musician)

Candidates must ensure they meet the following mandatory requirements before submitting their applications:

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
• Musical Proficiency: Proficiency in playing at least one instrument from the specified List A or List B is mandatory. Candidates should hold a Grade 5 (or higher) certificate, diploma, or documented proof of participation in recognized music events.
• Age Limit: Applicants must be born between 2005-01-01 and 2009-07-01 (inclusive). The maximum age at the time of enrollment is 22 years.
• Physical Standards: Unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Minimum height requirements are 162 cm for males and 152 cm for females (subject to regional relaxations).

Selection Process and Structure

The selection process for the musician cadre involves several distinct stages at the designated rally venue:

1. Document Verification: Verification of educational, musical, and identity credentials.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Includes a 1.6 km run (7 minutes for males, 8 minutes for females), push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
3. Written Examination: An objective-type test consisting of 30 questions to be completed within 30 minutes. No negative marking is applied.
4. Music Proficiency Test (MPT): A practical assessment where candidates perform on their selected instrument before a board of experts.
5. Medical Examination: Candidates must meet the prescribed IAF medical standards.

Salary and Benefits

Agniveers receive a monthly remuneration package which undergoes an annual increment. Upon completion of the four-year term, candidates are entitled to the Seva Nidhi package.

Note: 70% of the monthly salary is paid, while the remaining is deposited into the Agniveer Corpus Fund. A life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh is provided for the duration of the engagement.
