Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the TES-56 entry, applicants must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have cleared their 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • JEE Requirement: Appearance in the JEE (Mains) 2026 is compulsory. The application will require a valid JEE Mains Application Number.
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India or fulfill other nationality criteria as specified in the official notification.

Age Limit Requirements

The age of the applicant must fall within the specific range as of January 1, 2027:

  • Minimum Age: 16½ years
  • Maximum Age: 19½ years
  • Birth Date Range: Born between July 1, 2007, and July 1, 2010 (both dates inclusive).
  • The birth date mentioned in the Matriculation or Class 10th certificate will be the only document accepted for verification.

Selection Process

The recruitment follows a rigorous selection procedure to identify suitable candidates for officer training:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Mains Common Rank List (CRL) score.
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted individuals undergo a 5-day Service Selection Board (SSB) process including psychological tests and group tasks.
  3. Medical Fitness: Those recommended by the SSB must pass a medical examination at designated military hospitals.
  4. Merit List: Final selection is based on SSB performance, medical fitness, and the number of available vacancies.

Training and Career Benefits

Selected candidates undergo 4 years of comprehensive training (3 years at Cadets Training Wings and 1 year at IMA, Dehradun). Upon completion, they are granted a Permanent Commission in the rank of Lieutenant and awarded an Engineering degree.

  • Stipend: A monthly stipend of ₹56,100 is provided during the final year of training at IMA.
  • Salary: On commissioning, the starting salary follows Level 10 (approx. ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500).
  • Commission Type: Permanent Commission.
