Overview of UPSSSC Forensic Science Laboratory Recruitment 2026
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the official notification for the Vidhi Vigyan Prayogshala (Forensic Science Laboratory) Recruitment 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill 208 vacancies for Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant (Prayogshala Sahayak) positions. Candidates must have a valid PET-2025 score to be eligible for this selection process.

Note: All positions are temporary (Asthayi) and subject to horizontal reservation rules as per the Uttar Pradesh government policy.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the following requirements based on the Vidhi Vigyan Prayogshala Araajpatrit (Praviधik) Seva Niyamavali, 2016:
- Essential Qualification: Graduate degree in relevant domains (Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, or Computer Science) from a recognized university.
- Age Limit: 21 to 40 years as of 1 July 2026. Relaxation applies to reserved categories as per state rules.
- PET Requirement: Only candidates with a non-zero, positive normalized score in PET-2025 are eligible to apply.
Selection Process and Examination
Selection is based on a single-stage Written Main Examination. Candidates are shortlisted for the exam based on their PET-2025 scores, usually at 15 times the vacancy count. The written exam consists of 100 objective-type questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Forensic Science, Computer/IT, and UP General Knowledge. A penalty of 0.25 marks applies for each incorrect answer.
