The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has officially published Advertisement No. 06/2026 announcing the Common Recruitment Examination for Group-A & Group-B, Gazetted (Technical) Posts-2026 (Part-II). This recruitment drive seeks to fill 37 administrative and judicial vacancies across the Finance and Home Departments of the State Government. Eligible candidates who possess indigenous Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) status and permanent residency in the state are invited to submit their applications online.

APPSC Vacancy Details 2026

The total of 37 vacancies is distributed across four distinct technical and administrative positions. The detailed breakdown of post-wise distribution, parent departments, and pay levels is structured below:

Note: Out of the 7 posts for Finance & Accounts Officer/Treasury Officer, 1 vacancy is reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing category. Two posts in the same category are kept out of this notification due to pending judicial litigation in WP(C) No. 549/2025.

Essential Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill all the following residency, language, and educational qualifications before registering online:

1. Mandatory Residency & Regional Eligibility

• Indian Citizenship: The applicant must be a citizen of India.
• Permanent Residence: Must be an inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh holding a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC).
• Indigenous Status: Only candidates belonging to the original indigenous Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes (APST) are eligible to apply.
• Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in speaking an Indigenous Tribal Language of Arunachal Pradesh and possess verified knowledge of local customs and tribal environments.

2. Educational Qualifications & Experience Requirements

• Finance & Accounts Officer / Treasury Officer: A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Economics; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Statistics or Mathematics studied as a compulsory subject throughout all semesters/years from a recognized University.
• Sub-Treasury Officer: A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Economics and Statistics studied as core compulsory subjects across all academic terms.
• Assistant Director (Prosecution): A Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from a recognized University, supplemented by at least 7 years of active legal practice as an advocate in criminal courts, OR equivalent experience as a First Class Magistrate.
• Assistant Public Prosecutor: A Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree combined with a minimum of 7 years of active legal practice in criminal law.

* Candidates currently appearing in the final semester/year of their qualifying degree for the Finance Department posts can apply, subject to producing the final degree/passing certificate in original at the time of the personal interview. For Home Department legal posts, the 7-year practice/experience certificate must be uploaded during the initial application submission.

Age Limits & Category-Wise Relaxation

The candidate’s age must fall within the range of 21 to 35 years as on the last date of application submission, which is 12 October 2026. Age verification is based solely on the Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate.

Comprehensive Selection Process & Examination Pattern

The final selection is based on a competitive process containing a Written Examination followed by a personal interview/viva-voce test. If the number of applicants exceeds the manageable ratio, a preliminary Screening/Recruitment Test will be held first.

1. Screening / Recruitment Test (If Applicable)

If executed, this is purely an objective-type, qualifying screening test. Marks will not be counted in compiling the final merit list.

• Finance & Treasury Posts: 200 Marks paper covering Commercial Mathematics, General Awareness, and Current Affairs.
• Prosecution/Law Posts: 200 Marks paper based strictly on core Law subjects.
• Ratio: Top candidates matching 12 times the vacancy strength (or as decided by APPSC) will qualify for the main written examination.

2. Main Written Examination & Interview Scheme

The main written test is descriptive and carries a total weightage of 450 marks, followed by a 50-mark interview stage.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria: To be eligible for the personal interview, candidates must score at least 33% aggregate marks across the written exam papers, with a minimum of 20% in each individual paper. For PwBD candidates, the minimum aggregate qualification is relaxed to 20% total, with at least 10% in each subject paper.
