KEA PU College Principal Recruitment 2026 Overview
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru, has issued two official recruitment advertisements on behalf of the Department of School Education (Pre-University Education), Government of Karnataka. This promotional recruitment drive is organized to fill 247 vacant posts of Principal in Government Pre-University Colleges across the state.
Interested and eligible in-service Lecturers must submit their applications online through the official KEA website. The vacancies are divided into two distinct cadres:

Eligibility Criteria
This recruitment is a closed departmental selection process and is not open to the general public or fresh candidates. Applicants must satisfy the following service requirements:
- Current Position: The applicant must be a serving Lecturer in a Government Pre-University College under the School Education Department of Karnataka.
- Minimum Service: Must have completed a minimum of 10 years of continuous service in the Lecturer cadre.
- Probation: Successful and satisfactory completion of the probation period as a Lecturer is mandatory.
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit prescribed for this departmental recruitment.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will be appointed as Principals of Government PU Colleges under the revised state pay matrix:
- Pay Scale: Rs. 90,200 – Rs. 1,59,200 per month.
- Pension Scheme: Regulated by the pension rules applicable to the officer's original date of appointment as a Lecturer.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Selection will be determined solely based on merit scores obtained in the competitive examination conducted by KEA. The test consists of three mandatory papers:

- Medium of Exam: Papers 2 and 3 will be bilingual (English and Kannada).
- Verification Shortlist: Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification in a 1:2 ratio based on the combined marks of Paper 2 and Paper 3.
