The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has released the official notification for the direct recruitment of 3991 Police Constable (Civil) positions. This recruitment is divided into two distinct cadres: the Kalyana Karnataka (371-J) cadre and the Mikkili (Okkalida) cadre. The recruitment process is managed by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Bengaluru, in coordination with the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Candidates must possess a Pre-University Certificate (PUC) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Karnataka State Government. Proficiency in the Kannada language is mandatory. Candidates who have not studied Kannada as a first or second language at the PUC level must qualify for a separate Kannada language test conducted by the KEA.
