Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a prominent Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has announced an recruitment drive for 132 positions on a fixed-term contract basis. These vacancies are situated within the Mechanical/Project Department at the VDPD Workshop in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates are invited to participate in the walk-in selection process scheduled for June 2026.

Vacancy Details and Classification

A total of 132 openings have been released across various technical and support roles. Below is the detailed post-wise distribution:

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements as of May 1, 2026:

• Junior Technical Assistant: Full-time Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or related Engineering fields with at least 1 year of experience.
• Quality Inspector: Full-time Mechanical Engineering Degree with 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance or Inspection.
• Technicians (Welder/Fitter): ITI qualification in the respective trade with a minimum of 1 year post-qualification industrial experience.
• EOT Operator: 10th pass or ITI with 2 to 4 years of specific crane operation experience.
• Vehicle Driver: 10th pass and a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) license with 2 years of experience.
• Operators (Lister/Hydra): ITI certificate and 2 years of experience in specialized equipment operation.
• Helper/Khalasi: 10th standard pass and physically fit, with 2 years of general industrial experience.

Age Limits & Relaxation

The maximum age limit for all advertised positions is 50 years as of 01-05-2026. Age relaxations apply as follows:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• SC / ST Candidates: 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per official Government of India directives.

Remuneration Package

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary that includes Basic Pay, DA, HRA, and other allowances. The approximate pay based on city classification is as follows:

• JTA (Mechanical): Up to ₹47,220 (A Class Cities)
• Technicians/Inspectors/Drivers: Up to ₹30,900 (A Class Cities)
• Office Boy/Helper: Up to ₹29,300 (A Class Cities)
