Eligibility Criteria for Ladakh Police Constable

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed 10th Class/Matriculation from a recognised Board of School Education.
• For Serving Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Ladakh Police who have completed at least three years of continuous engagement by the application deadline, an 8th Pass qualification is sufficient, subject to all other prescribed conditions.
• The required qualification must have been acquired on or before the last date fixed for submission of online application forms.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 28 years

Domicile Requirement

• Applicants must possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
• For preference and allocation to the Border Battalion, candidates must hold a valid Domicile Certificate establishing domicile in an eligible border village.

Ladakh Police Constable Application Fee 2026

The fee is payable online only via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI through the Recruitment Application Software (RAS) during online application submission. Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected, and fees once paid are non-refundable.

Ladakh Police Constable Selection Process

The selection process for Constable posts will comprise multiple stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed further:

1. Physical Standard Test (PST): Qualifying in nature.
2. Physical Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying in nature.
3. Scrutiny of Original Documents/Testimonials: Qualifying in nature.
4. Scrutiny/Assessment of NCC Certificates: Up to 5% incentive marks.
5. Desired Qualification Test: Up to 5% incentive marks.
6. Written Examination: 100 marks.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

• Male Candidates:

  • Chest: 81 cm unexpanded minimum, 85 cm expanded minimum

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

• Male Candidates:
  • Long Race: 1600 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds
  • Long Jump: 12 feet (three attempts)

  • Long Race: 1200 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds
  • Long Jump: 9 feet (three attempts)
  • Shot Put: 4 kg, 14.5 feet (three attempts)

Ladakh Police Constable Written Examination & Syllabus

The written examination is objective/MCQ type, of Matriculation level, and will be conducted for 100 marks. Details are as follows:

• Total Questions: 100
• Total Marks: 100 (1 mark per question)
• Duration: 80 minutes
• Medium: Bilingual (English and Hindi)
• Negative Marking: No negative marking

Incentive Marks

Candidates can claim incentive marks for specific achievements:

• Driving Licence/Computer Certificate: Up to 5% of the maximum marks of the written examination for possessing either:
  • A valid Light Motor Vehicle Driving Licence with transport endorsement, OR
  • A one-year AICTE-recognised Computer Application Certificate.
  (Note: Only one of these two can be claimed).
• NCC Certificate:
  • NCC "C" Certificate: 5% of maximum marks
  • NCC "B" Certificate: 3% of maximum marks
  • NCC "A" Certificate: 2% of maximum marks
