RCF Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualifications
- All prescribed qualifications must be obtained from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course. Distance Learning, Part-Time, or Correspondence mode qualifications are not eligible.
- Allied branches of Diploma in Engineering are not applicable.
- Candidates who have completed Act Apprentice training, possess one year or more of job experience, or are pursuing higher studies are ineligible.
- The passing certificate/final year mark sheet of the required qualification must be dated on or after July 1, 2023. Minimum percentage calculation should be based on the final year or aggregate of the last two semesters.
- B.Sc candidates with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics are eligible for Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) and Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) trades (Chemistry as major subject) and Instrument Mechanic (Chemical Plant) trade (Physics as major subject).
- Graduates with Biology (only Zoology or only Botany) may apply for Secretarial Assistant or Recruitment Executive (HR) posts.
Age Limit (as on September 1, 2026)

Age Relaxation
Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India guidelines:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

Training Location & Timings
Apprentices will undergo training at RCF’s units located in Trombay (Mumbai) or Thal (Raigad District), as per company requirements. Candidates must select their preferred unit during online application, which cannot be changed later. The posting is non-transferable throughout the apprenticeship period.

RCF Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The selection process for RCF Apprentice positions is merit-based and does not involve a written examination:
- Merit Listing: A provisional merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed essential educational qualification. Applicable reservation policies will be considered.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates from the merit list will be called for Document Verification. If CGPA/CPI or grades are awarded, candidates must provide the equivalent percentage as per their University/Institute's norms, supported by a certificate during DV.
- Apprenticeship Contract Approval: Only after successful document verification and approval of their Apprenticeship Contract on the respective National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal, candidates will be appointed as Apprentice Trainees.
In case of a tie in merit list marks, candidates with a higher qualification will be ranked higher. If qualifications are also identical, the candidate with more marks in the preceding educational qualification will be ranked higher.

- Navigate to Recruitment: Click on the “RECRUITMENT” section, then select “ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICES – 2026-27.”

Required Documents for RCF Apprentice Application
Candidates must prepare the following documents for verification and reporting:
At the Time of Document Verification:
- Latest passport-size photographs
- Updated PAN card
- Updated Aadhaar card
- Self-operated primary bank account in the candidate’s own name (excluding Postal Bank accounts), DBT-enabled and Aadhaar-linked, for stipend credit.
- Mark sheets of all years/semesters or passing certificates in the qualifying examination.
- SSC certificate / Birth certificate / School leaving certificate / passport (any one as proof of age).
At the Time of Reporting (if selected):
- Latest passport-size photographs.
- Proof of age (SSC certificate/Birth certificate/School leaving certificate).
- Leaving certificate for SSC, HSC, and Graduation, with Student ID.
- Educational qualification mark sheets and certificates (10th, 12th, Graduation - all years/semesters).
- Certificate from the University/Institution on the equivalent percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (if CGPA/CPI is used).
- Medical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Officer/Practitioner of a Government or Municipal Hospital, in the prescribed format (Annexure A).
- Caste certificate, for SC/ST candidates (Annexure B).
- OBC (NCL) certificate and caste certificate in Central Government format, for OBC (NCL) candidates.
- EWS certificate, for EWS candidates.
- Certificate for children/family members of the victims of the 1984 riots, where applicable.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- Online applications are accepted strictly from September 4, 2026, to September 20, 2026.
- The email address and mobile number provided in the application must remain valid and functional throughout the recruitment process.
- Selected apprentices must possess an Aadhaar-linked and seeded bank account in their own name (preferably a nationalized bank with internet banking) for stipend disbursement.
- Candidates must mandatorily possess PAN and Aadhaar cards at the time of reporting; the name on the Aadhaar card must precisely match all educational qualification documents.
- Only the medical certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) will be accepted.
- Applicants must apply for only ONE discipline/trade as per their eligibility. Submitting multiple applications will lead to the rejection of all applications.
- Documents are verified only when called for; do not send or submit documents at the time of online application.
- Merely meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection. RCF reserves the right to raise minimum eligibility criteria to manage candidate numbers.
- Furnishing wrong or false information in the application will result in disqualification.
- Apprentices not completing the full training period or absent without valid grounds will have their contract terminated without notice, no certificate will be issued, and stipend recovery may apply.
