Eligibility Criteria for UPESSC Special TET 2026
This Special TET is specifically designed for serving teachers and Special Educators as per Supreme Court mandates. Candidates must fall into one of the following categories to be eligible:
1. Serving Primary and Upper Primary Level Teachers:
Teachers currently serving in the following types of schools are eligible:
- Primary Level (Class 1 to 5): All schools run by the State Government, Local body schools, and those granted affiliation/recognition by the State Government/Basic Shiksha Parishad, as well as schools receiving aid from the State Government.
- Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8): All schools run by the State Government, Local body schools, and those granted recognition/affiliation by the State Government/Basic Shiksha Parishad/Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, as well as schools receiving aid from the State Government.
2. Special Educators (CWSN) serving on contract/deliverables basis:
- Special Educators, Primary Level (Class 1-5), CWSN: Must have passed Graduation along with an RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India)-recognised D.Ed Special Education or equivalent examination, and mandatorily hold an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.
- Special Educators, Upper Primary Level (Class 6-8), CWSN: Must have passed Graduation along with an RCI-recognised B.Ed Special Education or equivalent examination, and mandatorily hold an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.

Important Instructions for the Written Exam
- Admit card download instructions, along with exam date, place, time, and centre details, will be communicated via SMS, email, newspaper, and the official website.
- Candidates must appear only at their allotted centre; no change of centre is permitted.
- Download admit cards from www.upessc.up.gov.in using your registration number/mobile number and date of birth.
- Candidature is provisional. Ineligibility found at any stage will lead to cancellation.
- Any misconduct in the exam hall will result in cancellation of candidature and potential debarment from future exams.
- Candidates MUST bring a black ball-point pen for filling the OMR sheet. Other pens, pencils, and whitener are strictly prohibited.
- Do not make changes or use erasers/whitener on the OMR sheet. Darkening more than one circle for a question will lead to non-evaluation of that question.
- Divyangjan (disabled) candidates are entitled to a Scribe facility and 20 minutes extra time per hour, as per Government Orders. They must arrange their own scribe and register at the Commission office at least one week prior to the exam.
- No travel allowance is payable for appearing in the exam.
Instructions for Reserved Category Candidates
- Uttar Pradesh domicile candidates claiming reservation must clearly mention their category in the application.
- Candidates claiming multiple reservations will receive only one, the most beneficial.
- Reserved category candidates not domiciled in Uttar Pradesh will be treated as General category.
- For women candidates, only a caste certificate issued from the father's side is valid.
- Caste certificates must be in the format prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Government.
- EWS certificates are valid only if they pertain to the year prior to the application year and are submitted in the prescribed format.
