The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) has issued notification Advt No ACTREC/ADVT-183/2026 for the recruitment of 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contractual basis. Candidates holding an M.Sc. degree in biological sciences with a valid national-level exam qualification are eligible to participate in the walk-in interview scheduled for 21 September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for ACTREC JRF Vacancy

Educational Qualification

• Essential: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or relevant biological subjects from a recognized university.
• National Exam Requirement: Candidates must have qualified in a national-level examination conducted by Central Government Agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICMR, IISc, ICAR, or IISER (e.g., CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, etc.).
• Desirable Experience: 1 to 2 years of practical research experience in cancer biology, cell culture techniques, molecular biology methods, and experimental animal handling.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age Limit: 32 years as on the date of the walk-in interview.
• Age Relaxation: Standard age relaxations apply to reserved candidates in accordance with Government of India instructions.

ACTREC JRF Stipend and Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the Junior Research Fellow post will receive a consolidated monthly compensation package breaking down as follows:

• Basic Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- per month
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): 27% (Rs. 9,990/-)
• Total Stipend: Rs. 46,990/- per month

Selection Process

The candidate evaluation and appointment process involves two sequential stages:

1. Document Screening & Registration: Physical verification of credentials and eligibility at the walk-in venue.
2. Personal Interview: Assessment of academic background, subject knowledge, and relevant laboratory skill sets by the selection committee.

Walk-In Interview Procedure & Reporting Instructions

Since this recruitment is conducted strictly through a direct walk-in format, candidates are not required to fill out an online application beforehand. Follow these steps on the interview day:
