ICAR CIFA Young Professional II Recruitment 2026 Walk in Interview for YP-II Post

Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) has issued a recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. 15/2026-27 / F.No.467/CIFA/Estt/2017/) inviting qualified candidates for a Walk-in Interview for 1 post of Young Professional-II (YP-II) on a purely contractual basis. Eligible candidates with relevant Post Graduate degrees in Fish Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Biochemistry, or Genomics can participate in the interview scheduled for 15 September 2026.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess either of the following qualifications from a recognized University/Institute:

• Post Graduate Degree in professional course: M.F.Sc. (with a 4-year Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Master's degree in Fish Biotechnology).
• M.Sc. Degree in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Zoology / Biochemistry / Genomics (with a 3-year Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Master's degree).

Required Technical Experience & Preference

• Mandatory research experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Data analysis, Database Development, Advanced Bioinformatics, and Machine Learning.
• Candidates who have completed pre-PhD coursework will receive preference during selection.

Age Limit (as on date of interview)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years
• Age Relaxation: Standard upper age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang (PwBD) candidates as per Government of India rules.

Salary & Remuneration

Selected candidates for the Young Professional-II post will receive a fixed consolidated stipend of Rs. 42,000/- per month. No extra house rent allowance (HRA) or other allowances will be paid beyond the consolidated remuneration unless specified in the appointment letter.

Selection Process

Selection for the ICAR CIFA Young Professional-II vacancy is direct. The selection stages are as follows:

1. Verification of original documents and eligibility conditions on the reporting date.
2. Assessment of academic credentials and research experience.
3. Personal Interview conducted by the selection board.
